I am a native of upstate New York just at the foothills of the Adirondack with Saratoga 20 minutes south and Montreal three hours north. The Hudson River went through my hometown. Fort Edward was integral for the French and Indian War and during the Revolution. One of the claims to fame is that it is mentioned in James Fenimore’s book, The Last of the Mohicans. To the First Nation is was called the “The Great Carrying Place” as the Hudson at this point begins to have rapids and they had to carry supplies, canoes, etc.
Fort Edward when I was growing up had Scott Paper, Decora (contact paper) GE, and was close enough to have employment in Hudson Falls and Glens Falls. Also, being in Washington County, it was surrounded by most dairy farms.
I come from Polish immigrants who were farmers and mill workers and was brought up with all the values that they brought: faith, hard work, respect, family, the example that with hard work, dreams can happen.
I am also a Catholic priest for 35 years at this point having served the Lord in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany as a pastor in a few places, work shop presenter, and on some committees. In addition to a love of the Lord, I am also a student of human behavior. I have a BA in psychology and an MSW in social work. I have a license in Clinical Social Work and work as a therapist and I am the Executive Director of the Consultation Center of the Diocese of Albany.
I am a retired runner (knee problems) but I still cycle and a gym rat. I love to take pictures, as you see from this site, read, eat interesting foods, and to see the world. I have recently taken up writing which is the reason for this blog.
I am hoping that one person will get some inspiration from what I post and will be able to see the world in a new way
